# AI for Research AI for Research is a course by Amsterdam Business School at the University of Amsterdam. This is the 1st Edition, November 2026. The course teaches researchers to use agentic AI tools, such as Claude Code, in research. An agent reads and changes files in a project folder and runs code. The course covers how to let an agent work safely, how to keep the work reproducible, and how to verify the output before it goes into a paper. Evening 3. ## Next edition A second iteration of AI for Research is planned for Q1 2027. Dates are not announced yet. Interested people can email Marc Salomon (m.salomon@uva.nl, cc g.strezoski@uva.nl). ## About The course is for researchers who want to use AI tools without losing control of their work. The tools read files, write code and run it. That makes them useful, and it makes mistakes easier to miss. Participants work through a set of labs. They turn a paper into a newspaper article, then build a small literature tool on OpenAlex that scores abstracts against their own statements. Each lab has a worked solution in the repository. The course runs in three days: Foundations, Literature and Replication. The materials for the first two days are in the repository. The third day appears in the course outline and its materials are not yet published there. ## Teachers - Marc Salomon, m.salomon@uva.nl - Joaquim Gromicho - Bas Bouten - Gjorgji Strezoski, g.strezoski@uva.nl - Marleen de Jonge - Yenan Wang
